When: Sunday, November 10th 2019. 12:15 PM to 9:00 PM

Where: 330 River Road, Ramsey Student Center Volleyball Arena, Athens, GA 30602

Events:

• Open: Men’s Singles. Mixed Doubles. Men's Doubles.
   
• Recreational: Men's Doubles, Mixed Doubles. Men’s Singles.

Restrictions:

• Players entering Open events cannot enter Recreational events. 
• Players will be limited to entering a maximum of 2 events.

Event Limit:

• Recreational Men's Doubles – 16 pairs
• Recreational Mixed Doubles – 8 pairs 
• Recreational Men’s Singles – 8 participants  
• Open Men’s Doubles – 16 pairs  
• Open Mixed Doubles – 8 pairs  
• Open Men’s Singles – 8 participants

Format:

• Events with 8 or more entries will be a best of one, 21 points “single elimination knockout” before Semi-Finals, and best of three, 21 points “single elimination knockout” starting from Semi-Finals.
  • First round losers in “single elimination” will be entered into a consolation bracket, where matches will be best of one, 21 points “single elimination knockout” all the way to the finals. 
• Events with less than 8 entries will be in Groups Format, in which participants will be divided into 2 groups, playing round robin best of one, 21 point games within the group. The first seed in each group will then enter the Final, where games will be best of three, 21 points.
• Events with less than 5 entries will be round robins best of one.

Registration (ONLY UGA STUDENTS/FACULTY/STAFF):

• All players must be registered.   
• If you are UGA FACULTY/STAFF, you MUST register for OPEN
• If you are a NON-CLUB UGA student, we suggest register for your skill level (i.e. if you are registering for open, your skill level must be up to par with an advanced player)
• If you are a part of UGA Badminton Club and a student, you MUST register for recreational (unless given exception to play in open from tournament organizers)
• Doubles players should ensure that you put your partner’s name when registering.
• If you are a female and wish to join singles, please email us on ugabulldawgbc@gmail.com and based on a case by case review, we can put you in the men's singles event. 

Fees:

• UGA Badminton Club members pay $8 for one event and $10 for two events.
• Non-UGA Badminton Club members pay $12 for one event and $15 for two events.  
• You will have to pay the fee through Venmo or by Cash within 24 hours of your registration. If not, even if you registered, you may not be eligible to play. 

Medals and Gifts:

• Li-Ning Gifts will be awarded to winners in all events  
• Medals will be awarded to winners and second place finishers in all events.
• P.S. Consolation winners will not receive medals or gifts. 

Code of Conduct: 

• Players shall treat opponents and partners with respect 
• Players shall not provoke opponents with foul language or any type of actions 
• • Any action that does not align with the University of Georgia’s Student Code of Conduct and the Competitive Sports Handbook:
  • Will be reported to Competitive Sports
  • Will be documented by UGABC’s board members in case of further review
  • May be removed from UGABC (under the board members’ review).
  • May be reported to the Office of Student Conduct.
  • May be reported to the Behavioral Assessment and Response Council (BARC). 
  
  
  • Misconduct examples include but are not limited to: 
  • Failure to comply with the UGA Badminton Club, Competitive Sports, Recreational Sports, and/or UGA policies
  • Discrimination towards any individual in the club or outside the club
  • Defamation of the club
  • Trespassing 
  • Disorderly conduct  
  • Threatening behavior
  • Providing false information
  • Underage alcohol violation and/or alcohol violation 
  • Harassment 
  • Hazing  
  • Infliction or threat of bodily harm  
  • Possession, distribution or sale of controlled substances 
  • Receipt and/or possession of stolen property

  • All members are expected to participate in a sportsmanlike fashion, respecting the welfare of the other members. Members must always conduct themselves in a manner that does not detract from the reputation of the University or the UGABC. This includes behavior in-game situations as well as contact with other members, teams, organizations, and event/facility staff. When involved in off-campus events or when traveling, members should keep in mind they are still a representative of UGA.
