Welcome to ClearOne 529 Badminton Championship, where you compete for Kids! Please find more about 529 plans here. 

Levels: The tournament is open for everyone at all levels (Beginners, B Level and Open Level).

Events: A player can only play in a maximum two events only. One event in each format (Singles/ Doubles/ Mixed Doubles)

Fees and Early Birds: First 25 players to register will pay $20 for Kids and $25 for Adults. After 25 players, the fees will increase by $25 for Kids and $30 for Adults.  

Bracket format: This will be a consolation type tournament, so you will play at least two matches minimum. Please note that all consolation draws will be played after the main draws are completed. 

If there are less than 5 members in an event, you may play a Round Robin within that group or may be moved to a higher skill level or age group. 

Match Format: All matches in the main draws, except for the final match will be played for 25 points. Final match in each round will be for 21 points, best of 3 games. Consolation matches are played for 21 points, one game. 

Registrations close on October 5th.  NO WALK-INS ALLOWED. 

Medals: All winners will get medals in the main draw (Gold, Silver and Bronze). Consolation round will not have a 3rd place match. Consolation winners will get the bragging rights (no medals)

Prize Money: This event is to encourage the younger players to compete in a non-traditional American sport. Total cash money of $529* (remember the college plans?) will be given to kids as a Badminton Scholorship! 

* Minimum number of players needed to participate in the tournament to get the full Prize Money. 

Shuttles: A2M Sports birdies will be used for the tournament and will be provided for the tournament matches. Players can buy the A2M Sports birdies at a discounted price. Maximum two birds for each match. Used birds need to be returned to get a new bird. 

Timing: Exact draws time for different events will be published two days in advance. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your event time. If you are late by more than 10 minutes, you will be forfeited. No exceptions.
