Playoff Rules:
Playoffs will be at ARC. The order of matches must be XD, MD1, MS1, WS, MS2, MD2. First team to win 4 matches will proceed to the next match. If both teams win 3 lines each, the 7th line will be... Womens Doubles. This is the format we didn't have in the round robin and will complete the BaTtLe with women power :). Line ups are shared with me before the match begins and can't be changed. All other rules apply from Round Robin as well. May the best team win!
COVID Protocols/ Guidelines:
While we are about to start the matches this weekend, please note that the threat of Covid is real. Please take all necessary precautions, follow CDC and Club guidelines to ensure your and other players' safety. We are being very flexible to play your matches early and I'll enter the scores two weeks after the matches are due if you or your team is impacted with Covid. If you are exposed to Covid or have Covid, please communicate with the captain and quarantine yourself for at least 10 days after the symtoms die down. Captains will consider those will be flexible for you to play. We want to finish all round robin matches before March 27th. Playoffs will be sceduled a week later. Again, please note that the goal is to play it safe and have fun. Winning is optional! Please note that the partner clubs (ABC, ARC, Wills Park Recreation Center) nor A2M takes the liability of an injury or sickness occurs during the league. You are playing at your own risk. If you have any concerns about it, please talk to your team captain or text me at 678-654-3778.

==============================
Welcome to Georgia's most prestigious Badminton League, The BaTtLe of Atlanta 4. We are calling all interested team captains to form the teams now. We'll have a team captains kick-off meeting on Dec 19th to discuss the format and rules etc. Here are the basic rules.
All teams will form under Open Level. Each team will play with other team in a Round Robin and top 4 teams will play in the Playoffs! We may choose to play Round Robin in two different groups if we have more than 10 teams. We'll make a final decision once the registrations close on Jan 8th.
Each player in the league pays $10 to play in the league. We encourage you to take membership at ARC, ABC or at Alpharetta Community Center so you can practice with your teams often. If you are not a member of ABC or ARC, you pay $6 each time you go to play the league matches. This $6 entry fee is only valid during the league time (Sunday between 10 and 12:30pm). If you want to practice more, other entry fee/ membership rates will apply.
A2M Sports shuttlecocks are the official bird for the league. Each Team will get one A2M Sports Shuttle Tube as part of the registration for free! More birds can be purchased from A2M Sports for $20 each. A2M Sports will provide the birds for the Playoffs.
We'll have the Champions Trophy for the winning team. In addition to the trophy, we will have individual awards for the Player of the Week, Most Valuable Player and Most Improved Player of the League.
A Team will have a minimum of 6 players and a maximum of 10 players. This will ensure more teams to play in the league. We are also limiting a maximum of 1 A Level players per team so the teams will be competitive and everyone will get a chance to learn from the A Level players.
Each Team will have 2 Mens Singles Lines, 2 Mens Doubles Lines and 1 Mixed Doubles line and 1 Womens Singles Line. A player can play in one Singles, one Doubles or one mixed doubles, but not more than 2 matches against the same team. A player can't play in both Singles lines or more than one double lines.
Each player in the team should play at least 3 matches during the league Round Robin to be qualified to play in the playoffs. This will ensure everyone in the team to participate and teams can't bring special players for Playoffs.
There will be a match every Sunday, between 10AM and 12:30PM. We have three clubs, ABC, ARC and now ACC is open for the league at this time. Teams can choose to have thier home court in any of these clubs. Schedule will be published ahead of start date.
Team Captains will coordinate the exact time of availability for all lines. All team members must be available on the agreed up on time. If courts are not available for all lines, Line1 Matches would start first, followed by Line2 and Line3. If a player or players (for doubles) are not on the court, within 15 minutes of the scheduled time, the other team will get a win by forfeit. No exceptions.
Because of Covid, we are giving much more flexibility to play your matches early and at different times, if both team captains agree to schedule their matches, however, all scores for all lines should be submitted by that mid night on Sunday. Late scores will not be accepted after the first week of the league.
Teams will play half their games in their Home Court and Half of them Away. Home team must provide the birds for all matches and may provide food/ drinks to the visiting teams.
All matches are played in accordance to USA Badminton rules and with utmost sportsmanship. The goal is to have fun and spread the sport and you may win some matches doing that.
Once the Round Robin is done, top 4 teams will go Play Offs. Playoffs will be played like IPL Playoffs. There will be a Champions Trophy for the BaTLe winning team. The winning team will keep the Champions Trophy in their Home Club until the next season. And, it’ll be open again for the next season. Winners and 2 place teams will get individual trophies.
Playoffs rules and order of the matches will be published after the round robin matches are completed.
Tournament Director has the right to change the rules, extend the dates etc. All decisions from the Tournament Director are final. For any questions, please contact admin@a2msports.com.
